Text editing is the process of correcting and adapting a text, such as an article or book, so that there are no spelling, syntax or grammar mistakes and the text reads well. It includes making sure that terminology and writing style are consistent throughout and that text references are correct and headers and footers match the index. In my case, it also includes making sure that the text has the correct spelling for European or African Portuguese, depending on the target market, and cross-checking other relevant information.
