Mónica Machado Translation Services was present at the CPLP Exporters Union Forum in Vila Real, Portugal

On 22^nd and 23^rd September 2017 Mónica Machado attended the CPLP Exporters Union Forum  in Vila Real. “CPLP is the Community of Portuguese Language Countries – an intergovernmental organisation of Lusophone nations across four continents, where Portuguese is an official language. The CPLP operates as a privileged multilateral forum for the mutual cooperation of the governments of its members, on both executive and ministerial levels, non-governmental organisations, and the various branches of the CPLP itself.” (Wikipedia)

This Forum was organised to provide the opportunity for trading representatives from Portuguese speaking countries to meet and promote trade from their respective countries. Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, East Timor, Sao Tome and Principe and Equatorial Guinea were all represented, each presenting or displaying examples of products they have available for export.  Bilateral meetings were also arranged in the same Forum to include Spain, France, Cameroon, Gabon and Senegal.

The enthusiasm expressed during the individual presentations made by each of the CPLP countries was high, with each country keen to advertise both their tourism and product offers, as well as their service needs, to such a high number of government officials and business executives.

Mónica Machado used the opportunity of this very well organised and attended Forum to gather information on planned or forthcoming projects from CPLP countries, particularly those with a technical aspect, where accurate specialised technical translation would be an essential piece of the jigsaw for the successful completion of the project.
