Monica Machado’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Projects in Angola and Mozambique

Over the last six months, Monica Machado Translation Services has continued to be highly involved in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Projects in Angola and Mozambique, proofreading for free one short story and two poems in Portuguese written by an Angolan author and to be disseminated in the Angolan market. “This is a very rewarding experience, as I am able to give back to clients and support local initiatives in Africa.”, Monica Machado.

Monica Machado Translation Services also translated the infographics on the differences between a sawfish (highly threatened species) and a saw shark. Many lusophone countries, including Brazil, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea and Mozambique, have historically supported populations of sawfishes, and thus the IUCN Shark and Ray Specialist Group hopes that this strategy document will encourage those countries to assess the status of their sawfish populations and develop locally-appropriate measures to protect these unique and highly threatened fishes from further decline. “I do take a special interest in species that need special protection, and being able to offer my translation services free of charge to such a commendable project makes me extremely proud.”, Monica Machado.
